Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Joayo Inc. ("joayo", "we", "us") regarding your use of the joayo consumer app and website. Please read them carefully — when you create an account or use the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least fourteen (14) years of age to use joayo. If you are between fourteen and nineteen, you represent that your legal guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms on your behalf. We may require age verification where Korean law requires (for example, for age-restricted offers).
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction. If you are using the Service on behalf of an entity, you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account, including protecting your login credentials and the devices where you are signed in. Please notify us immediately at support@joayo.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it current. We may suspend or terminate accounts that use falsified information or that appear to be operated by automation.
3. Offers and claims
joayo connects consumers with merchants who independently offer discounts, surprise bags, and rewards. The merchant — not joayo — is the legal seller of the goods or services you claim. joayo is the platform that displays the offer and records the claim.
Each offer specifies its validity window, pickup window, stock, location, and any restrictions. By claiming, you agree to the offer's stated terms. If the merchant's description differs from what you receive, contact the merchant first; if unresolved, contact joayo support within seven (7) days.
Some offers require payment at the merchant; others may be prepaid in-app. Prepaid offers are processed by our payment partner and governed by the merchant's refund terms plus the consumer protections in this agreement.
4. Cancellations
Free (unpaid) claims can be cancelled in-app at any time before pickup, with no fee. Please cancel if you won't make it — merchants rely on accurate demand signals to keep offers live.
Prepaid claims can be cancelled and refunded in full until thirty (30) minutes before the pickup window opens. After that threshold, cancellation is at the merchant's discretion unless the offer itself is unfulfillable (merchant closes, stock runs out, safety issue).
Repeated no-shows on free claims may result in temporary restrictions on claiming. We will notify you before any restriction takes effect.
5. Refunds
If the merchant cannot fulfill a prepaid offer, joayo will process a full refund to your original payment method within three (3) business days. Refunds for quality complaints are handled by the merchant, with joayo mediation on request.
In accordance with the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (전자상거래법), your statutory withdrawal rights remain available where applicable and are not limited by these Terms.
6. Prohibited use
You agree not to: (a) resell or transfer claims; (b) use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to claim offers; (c) misrepresent your identity or location; (d) harass merchants or other users; (e) use the Service for money laundering, fraud, or any unlawful purpose; (f) reverse-engineer or tamper with the app.
Violations may result in claim cancellation, account suspension, or termination, and may be reported to law enforcement where appropriate.
7. Disputes with merchants
Because the merchant is the legal seller, most disputes (product quality, service issues, allergen questions) are best resolved directly with the merchant. joayo records the claim, the pickup, and any messages sent through the app, and will provide this record on request.
If you cannot resolve a dispute with the merchant, joayo will mediate in good faith. Unresolved disputes may be escalated to the Korea Consumer Agency (한국소비자원) or the competent court.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Korean law, joayo is not liable for (a) the quality, safety, or legality of merchant goods and services; (b) indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; or (c) losses that were not reasonably foreseeable at the time of your claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
joayo's aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of (i) amounts you paid to joayo in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (ii) KRW 100,000.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms, for risk or compliance reasons, or if we discontinue the Service. Where feasible, we will notify you in advance and honor any pending prepaid claims.
10. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. Material changes will be notified at least seven (7) days in advance. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles. The Seoul Central District Court (서울중앙지방법원) will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising under these Terms, subject to mandatory consumer-protection provisions that may grant you rights in your local court.
